Richard Ray is a 5-time Emmy winning journalist who spent 46 years in TV news – the last 36 as an anchorman/reporter in Dallas/Fort Worth. Richard travelled the world covering major stories – wars, hurricanes, earthquakes, politics. He also hosted a weekly travel/recreation feature for 21 years called Lone Star Adventures.
Since retiring in 2019, he’s embarked on a second career in filmmaking – currently working on several documentary projects. He’s appeared as an actor in feature films, commercials and voice over work.
Richard first became involved with Fotolanthropy while still working at Fox 4 in Dallas. He met Katie and the team while filming a feature on the premiere of Travis: A Soldier’s Story. He went on to EmCee three premiers and assist in promotion of other projects.
But, first and foremost, he is a devoted Follower of Jesus Christ. Since 2004, Richard and his wife Catherine have been involved in mission work at home and abroad, traveling to Africa, Latin America and Asia. In March of 2022, Richard was part of the first team sent to Poland by Texas Baptist Men, spending two weeks doing relief work at a Refugee Center on the Ukraine border.
