When Sarah and Trey were told there was only a 0.1% chance of them ever conceiving a child, this young couple wondered if their dreams of having a family would ever come true. When baby William was born in 2013, not only was he celebrated as a miracle, but the faithful timing of this little blessing would become the motivation and inspiration for Trey’s mother Nancy’s battle of her own.
When father and husband Andrew learned his second battle with cancer would be terminal, he didn’t shrink back from sharing his incredible faith in life’s gray areas through his blog and book-writing. As we captured Andrew’s final days with his family at home, we saw just how certainly Andrew’s message and story would live on through his wife Bailey and daughter Ellie.
“I see two mommies and two daddies,” 9-year-old Bayleigh told her parents in 2006. After scans revealed a brain tumor, Bayleigh would begin years of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries at Children’s Hospital in Alabama. Kerri and her family were just about to celebrate her youngest child’s first birthday, when Kerri suddenly lost consciousness and had a seizure. Just days later she was told she had stage 3 brain cancer and only three years to live. But Kerri refused to give up the fight for her family and for her life.
