All this week we are sharing some of the incredible stories that were submitted to Fotolanthropy for the Teen Fotostory Project. In case you missed it, we are partnering with Seniorologie and Altar’d State to give an inspiring and deserving teen the gift of photography this holiday season. And with the help of many people to spread the word about this project, we received amazing nominations and have been touched by each and every story.
Kyndall Nominee #3
Inspiring others with her bracelet business and raising money for others to go on mission trips
Today’s story comes from Jenn Sprinkle in Garland, Texas. Jenn shared the story of Kyndall, an amazing teen that was born small but has done BIG things with her life. Kydall wanted to go on a mission trip and to help fund her trip she began making bracelets to sell. She made and sold enough bracelets to fund her trip but the orders kept coming. So she decided to continue making bracelets in hopes of funding other teens’ mission trips. Kyndall has an incredible faith and is sharing it around the world through her company Wrapped in Him. You can see Kyndall’s work on her website www.wrappedinhim.com.
Read Kyndall’s inspiring story below from both her words and the words of Jenn, who nominated Kyndall.
What is your relationship with the nominee? :
My best friend’s neice
Please describe the story of the nominee in full detail:
I have known Kyndall since she was born. At the time my best friend Jeni was dating Kyndall’s uncle Trace. I was with Jeni (my BF) when she got word that Kyndall was the only surviving triplet born to Jeni’s future sister-in-law. A miracle was born that day.
This is where Kyndalls story began. This is her words:
WrappedInHim all started to help raise money for me to go on a mission trip with our church youth choir group to the Amazon. (She began making bracelets and selling them to friends and family to raise money, then starting selling them on facebook) I was blown away by the quick outpouring of response, so we quickly knew that the LORD HAD BIGGER PLANS
FOR THIS SMALL IDEA. With your purchases I was able to take care of my trip costs, but the orders kept coming and
coming…and I enjoyed making them…so I knew we had to turn this into a way to help others raise money for their mission
trips too. So, I enlisted my sister and a few very close family and friends, who all went through rigorous “quality control bracelet making tests”, to help! With their help I was able to take your payments and make donations to their mission trips!
I am a proud and blessed to be born a Surviving Triplet!! I was born at 22 weeks weighing only 1lb. 3oz. My brother Kyle
weighed 1lb. 5oz. and Kolin was stillborn. I was born SMALL BUT GOD HAD BIGGER PLANS FOR ME! Against all odds, even when the doctors told my parents to not do anything to allow us to live, my parents refused and believed that the LORD was in
control and HE had a plan for my future! My parents clung to the verse Jeremiah 29:11. It gave them great hope and it helped
us know that we will again see my brothers Kyle and Kolin in heaven one day. I was 5 weeks old and still weighed right
under 1 pound! Mom tells stories of how they would keep me wrapped up in a cloth diaper as a blanket and I was “wrapped”
up like a burrito, to help momma with holding me with all the cords and tubes,…. but now as we look at the pictures it makes
us think of …“Wrapped in HIM”. The Lord was there all along with His loving arms “Wrapped” around me like a burrito!!
I have been blessed by parents who have prayed for me, my sister (and brothers too) since the day we were born that we
would follow after the Lord and His calling. My parents would be the first to tell you that they are not perfect but only HE is,
and we all need only to strive to be more like HIM everyday. I know that going on mission trips will be life changing and
another way of teaching me to be more like HIM and less like the world! It gave them great hope and it helped us know that we will again see my brothers Kyle and Kolin in heaven one day.
Thank you for helping us get to share the story of Jesus. He allowed me to be Wrapped in Him from a child who was told
would not survive and so SMALL, to now, changing MY life and giving me a BIG opportunity to share with people all around the World how HE too can change their life if they choose to be Wrapped In Him!
From me,Jenn: About a year ago, my friend Kelly Rucker and I, along with our passion for entrepreneurs, had a heart to come along side a young entrepreneur and sponsor them. I saw Kyndall’s facebook page (at about 300 followers at the time) and was impressed with how many followers she already had for her business. We met with Kyndall and her mom Tori at a Starbucks and learned they had already placed 500 orders for their bracelets….and then learned they had no site, no order process, no branding and no photography. This is where Kelly and I (with our biz, House of Inc) stepped in and sponsored Kyndall and Wrapped in Him. My background is design and Kelly’s is photography & web, so we created her new branding, an etsy site and taught her a new order process, took product photography and designed her social media pages. It has been an amazing honor to help take her business to the next level. She didn’t really need us, but its been fun to make it a little more fabulous and make the hundreds of orders easier to process!
Please describe how this nominee is inspiring you and loved ones :
She truly is an example of what fires us up about supporting, encouraging and inspiring entrepreneurs….young and old! My favorite story is how her family could have provide her the money for that BIG mission trip, but instead encouraged her to earn what was needed. Not only did she come up with a great business idea, but she employed her friends who also needed to raise money for their trips. When she quickly reached her funding goal she supported 3 other trips for other students with her earnings. Its inspiring and encouraging to witness a teenager who is NOT entitled, is willing to work hard and GIVE to others in need…not just through missions but provide her friends with the ability to serve oversesas.
What life lessons have you learned from this story? :
I am guilty of judging young teenagers….i avoid Friday and Saturday nights at the theaters because of them. Kyndall, her sister and her family have restored my faith in our youth. There are some amazing young kids out there making big impacts in our world.
Why do you want to nominate this story? :
All the above. I am moved by this story and its impact on not only the lives of others overseas, but the lives of people in her immediate circle. Its extremely inspiring!
