A nonprofit that documents inspiring true stories of people that have overcome adversity
Each year Fotolanthropy chooses several of its stories to turn into documentary short films, created by filmmaker members of our Fotocrew. In addition to a portrait session, recipients will receive a 5-10 min film of their story.

When father and husband Andrew learned his second battle with cancer would be terminal, he didn’t shrink back from sharing his incredible faith in life’s gray areas through his blog and book-writing. As we captured Andrew’s final days with his family at home, we saw just how certainly Andrew’s message and story would live on through his wife Bailey and daughter Ellie.
“I see two mommies and two daddies,” 9-year-old Bayleigh told her parents in 2006. After scans revealed a brain tumor, Bayleigh would begin years of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries at Children’s Hospital in Alabama. “Adoption and missions were for ‘those people.’ Radicals. People who always had a ‘heart for the nations.’ That wasn’t me,” remembers Wynn. But through the heartache of infertility and researching other options, Wynn and Stephen discovered God’s perfect plan for their family would take them on a radical journey that ruined them in the most glorious way forever.
On September 3, 2011 Beth and Mark welcomed son William, the perfect little brother for sister Charolette. But just one month following William’s birth, a series of trips to the hospital, testing, and meetings with doctors would reveal that he had SMA Type 1 – a muscle disease for which there is little treatment and no cure. As Beth and Mark ventured into the unknown for William’s future and a life of living in hospitals, they learned to value the incredible blessing of each new day.
Becky’s third pregnancy seemed perfectly normal. But as soon as Titus was born, the list of disabilities doctors began to name to her and husband Paul seemed to grow longer by the hour. Yet in the midst of constant uncertainty, the Daily family has discovered Titus has so much to teach them about the unexpected joy found in life’s challenges.
